The Rundown: Dr. Phillipa Hardman is back again with five use cases to improve the quality & speed of the Build Stages of ADDIE. She shares how AI tools dramatically accelerate and improve the quality of the development and implementation phases of the ADDIE instructional design model.
The Context:
Traditional ADDIE development is often slow and prone to inconsistencies.
New AI tools offer solutions for faster, more effective course creation.
These tools include those used for scripting, quality assurance, and prototyping.
Why it Matters: By leveraging AI, instructional designers can rapidly iterate, ensure higher quality, and personalize learning experiences, ultimately leading to more effective and engaging educational content.
A new generation of AIs: Yes, AI suddenly got better... again
The Rundown: AI's rapid growth means we must see it as more than a task-doer; it's now a smart partner capable of complex work like research and creation. To keep up, we should find new ways AI can help, not just automate old jobs, and adjust our plans as it improves. We must look beyond simple time or money savings and value AI for its ability to bring us new ideas and insights.
The Context:
New AI tools are very smart. They can do hard tasks, like research and creative work.
We should not just count how much time or money AI saves. We need to see how it gives us new ideas.
We need to stop just using AI to do old tasks. We should find new things AI can help us do. (If you haven't yet, go play with the new Claude 3.7 sonnet!)
Why It Matters: It's vital for leaders to realize that AI can perform tasks beyond their current expectations. When AI is applied effectively, it has the potential to significantly enhance our work processes. Given that AI technology is continuously evolving, it's essential that we proactively learn how to integrate and utilize it to our advantage.
The Rundown: Focusing on a single, clear message is crucial for both memorability and believability.
The Context:
People struggle to remember multiple messages, especially in today's attention-scarce environment.
"Goal dilution" occurs when your messaging claims too many benefits, weakening the perceived effectiveness of each individual benefit.
Research shows that a single, focused message increases both recall and trust.
Why it Matters: We should prioritize single-mindedness in our messaging to maximize ad effectiveness, ensuring our audience both remembers and believes the key message.
